Our Mission is to make great wine for all kinds of people, provide a memorable, meaningful experience for our customers, and have a great time doing all the above.

Talon Winery offers hand-crafted Colorado wines for your enjoyment. Whether you like dry whites, blushes, dry reds or dessert wines, you’ll find a surprising treat.

Owner/Winemaker Glenn Foster has deep roots in the wine business. His father founded and ran Ravenswood Winery in Sonoma, CA, for 30 years. Glenn’s been making wine in the Grand Valley since 1995. Glenn’s passion for falconry inspired him to name his business Talon Wine Brands.

Talon Wine Brands encompasses a small family of three wineries: Talon Winery, Meadery of the Rockies and St. Kathryn Cellars.

Talon Winery has been around since 2005. We opened business as the Colorado Wine Room in Fruita. Because we were in such a small space, we could only make one wine per year, but we were licensed to sell OPW (Other People’s Wines), as long as they were made by a Colorado Limited Winery. So we sold about 30 different wines from all over Colorado. After about three years, we realized we couldn’t survive by selling OPW in that location, so we hunted for a facility where we could make more wine.We found Confre Cellars in Palisade, which was making wine under 3 brands of its own: Meadery of the Rockies, St. Kathryn Cellars, and Confre Cellars. So in we jumped, in January of 2008. We’ve abandoned the Confre brand, so now we’re down to just three.Talon Winery is co-located with St. Kathryn Cellars in the same building and physical address. Inside, St. Kathryn is on the north side and Talon and the Colorado Fudge Factory are on the south side. Meadery of the Rockies is about a mile away. All the wines are made and bottled at Meadery of the Rockies.
